Software: The Learning Company, Heartsoft, KidPix, Kidspiration, Microsoft Word, Paint, Excel, PowerPoint, and other skill-building software
Internet: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Yahoo E-mail epals (2nd grade only), various educational websites for games and learning activities
Early elementary students will be able to:
 | Log on to the system with a user name and password with help |
| Log off, shut-down or restart the system with help |
| Locate on/off buttons for the processor, monitor and speakers |
| Identify hardware: computer monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, headset, processor, disk drives, scanner, projector, video and digital cameras, printer |
| Identify software: CD, key drive and floppy disk |
| Investigate the inside of a computer and the names of its parts |
| Load software with help |
| Locate and open software using desktop icons |
| Locate letters and numbers on keyboard to perform simple word processing tasks |
| Save work to a disk or to the server |
| Create a simple Word documents, multimedia projects and cut/copy/paste using various software |
| Use the internet to locate websites and search for basic information with help |
| Use e-mail and the letter-writing format to perform simple e-mail tasks with help/without help |
